Living With Autism
Children with pervasive developmental disorders, such as Autism, are rigid by nature. Much of the life of the parent of such a child revolves around teaching them to achieve a balance between those things they are compelled to do by their own nature, and the things we, the parents and society at large, require them to do. This is at the core of our daily struggle to ready our children for the life that awaits them. Our job is to teach them the wisdom and flexibility to make the choices that will help them fit into society in a way that is acceptable to them and those around them.
