Since there is always a chance that there is a physical reason for this, the most prudent action to take is to ask your pediatrician for an ultrasound test to make sure that there is nothing structurally wrong with either the bladder or the kidneys.

If both the kidneys and the bladder are fine, the next best option is to train your child’s bladder by waking her up once or twice during the night over a period of several weeks, until her bladder is trained and she can sleep through the night without needing to go to the bathroom, or wakes up on her own.

If you feel that your child has food allergies or sensitivities, you may want to eliminate them from his diet for a few weeks to see whether there are improvements with his sensory issues – including bladder control and the amount of sensation in the abdominal area. Food intolerances and, sometimes, too much of a particular supplement, may be at fault for your child’s bedwetting.
